NMDP Volunteer Confidentiality Acknowledgment

Volunteer Confidentiality  

NMDP volunteers may sometimes have access to confidential, privileged, or proprietary information.  Confidential information must not be discussed outside of the organization, copied, removed from physical premises, or used in any manner that goes beyond the scope of the volunteer activity. Volunteers are strictly prohibited from disclosing this or other confidential information to any person who doesn't have a legitimate business or legal need to know.

If you're ever uncertain about whether information is confidential or private, consult your volunteer coordinator.

Maintaining the confidentiality of information entrusted to our organization is critically important as it fosters trust between NMDP and the patients, donors, and other partners we serve. Because we take this commitment seriously, failure to maintain confidentiality will end your volunteer relationship with NMDP.

Volunteer Confidentiality Statement

Volunteers are required to keep confidential all donor, patient, employee, or volunteer information, or NMDP privileged or proprietary information, encountered while volunteering for NMDP. Volunteers may use such confidential information only in a manner consistent with and necessary for the completion of their defined volunteer duties. Volunteers are strictly prohibited from disclosing this or other confidential information to any person who does not have a legitimate business or legal need to know.  

A copy of this acknowledgment will be maintained by NMDP.

Failure to maintain confidentiality may result in termination of the volunteer’s relationship with NMDP, including the possibility of legal action.
